DESCRIPTION

By using this trainer, trainees can learn about biogas systems as a form of alternative energy. Biogas is the mixture of gases produced by the breakdown of organic matter in the absence of oxygen (anaerobically), primarily consisting of methane and carbon dioxide. Biogas can be produced from raw materials such as agricultural waste, manure, municipal waste, plant material, sewage, green waste or food waste. Biogas is a renewable energy source. Through this lab, students will learn about biogas systems, how they operate, how to set one up, how they are controlled, storage and distribution.

FEATURES

The trainer consists of a biogas digester, stainless steel sink, feeding pump, circulating pump, hollow sunlight sheet, outlet and metal supporting frame. Biogas digesters receive organic matter, which decompose in a digestion chamber. The digestion chamber is fully submerged in water, making it an anaerobic (oxygen-free) environment. The anaerobic environment allows for microorganisms to break down the organic material and convert it into biogas.
