The tumbling barrel is designed according to IEC60068-2-31 clause 5.3 / figure A.1, IEC60598-1 clause 4.13.5, IEC60884-1 clause 24.2 for repeat free fall test. The test is to check the mechanical strength of the electrical appliance like plugs and socket-outlets. The sample shall be placed in the tumbling barrel and subjected to prescribed number of falls.
