The FieldScout SC900 Soil Compaction Meter measures soil compaction. Compaction compresses soil particles, reducing the available air space, making the movement of water through the roots difficult. This inhibits the growth of plant roots, negatively affecting crops, plants and turf health. Using a soil compaction meter will help guide decisions regarding areas of the field that require tillage, changes to crop rotation and planting of cover crops.
