Details

 The PM1703MO-1A and PM1703MO-1B instruments combine features of both SPRD and dosimeter in the one housing. Theirs small-sized GM tube allows for measuring dose and dose rate of the gamma radiation in the wide energy range while highly sensitive CsI(Tl) scintillation detector allows for searching of the radioactive and nuclear materials and primary radionuclide identification of the radioactive sources.

The PM1703MO family instruments combine functionality of the Spectroscopic Personal Radiation Detector (SPRD) and dosimeter in the one housing. The highly sensitive CsI(Tl) detector enables prompt gamma radiation detection, source location and primary radionuclide identification. The GM tube based detector ensures precise dose and dose rate measurement.
The Spectroscopic Personal Radiation Detector consists of two separate parts:
PM1703MO-1A / PM1703MO-1B radiation detector equipped with a USB / Bluetooth module
PoliIdentify software - Polimaster proprietary software suite used for data processing and radioisotope identification.
The external computing device such as smartphone, PDA, laptop, or PC can be used to run PoliIdentify software. The communication between the detector and the external computing device is carried out either via USB (PM1701MO-1A) or Bluetooth (PM1703MO-1B) channel.
The separation of the detection and data processing parts of SPRD suite provides high flexibility in the configuration and number of benefits to the end-user. For example, the radiation detector can be used as a conventional standalone personal radiation detector (PRD). If there a need for the isotope identification capabilities the PRD can be upgraded to enable identification and networking capabilities without hardware replacing and/or significant modification. Additionally, communication via Bluetooth allows distance separation between user and the radiation source while instrument is operating and providing additional protection to the user from unnecessary radiation exposure.
The PM1703MO-1A / B SPRD models have following functions:
Search for and locate the gamma radiation sources;
Precise measuring of the dose and dose rate of gamma radiation in the wide energy range;
Alert the user of the presence of a radiation source or potential radiation exposure hazard through audible, visual and vibrating alarms if one of the adjustable independent search, dose and dose rate thresholds are exceeded;
Record and analyze gamma spectra as well as identify radionuclide composition.

In addition to the on-site identification, the SPRD models have networking capabilities giving the ability to transmit data via internet for the off-site analysis and isotope identification.
