Can metal detectors locate underground pipes and cables?
06/10/2026 19:17:37

Metal detectors operate on the principle of passive electromagnetic induction and can only detect isolated metal objects such as gold, copper, and iron. These devices cannot trace utility paths because they cannot differentiate the direction or depth of long, buried continuous pipes. For insulated electrical cables or plastic pipes, metal detectors are completely ineffective as there is no AC current to generate a magnetic field. Furthermore, the detection depth of standard consumer metal detectors is typically limited to 1 - 2 meters for small objects, whereas underground utility lines are often buried 3 - 5 meters deep or even more.

Stability vs Uniformity in a Circulating Bath: What's the Difference?
06/10/2026 16:12:21

When reviewing the specifications of a laboratory circulating bath, two performance parameters frequently appear: Stability and Uniformity. Although both are related to temperature control, they describe two fundamentally different characteristics of the equipment.

Causes of Uneven Temperature Distribution in a Circulating Bath
06/10/2026 11:44:15

Circulating baths are widely used in chemical, biological, pharmaceutical, material research, and calibration laboratories. Their function extends beyond heating; they are designed to maintain a stable temperature throughout the entire working area. When temperature uniformity deteriorates, samples placed in different locations within the bath may be exposed to different thermal conditions, affecting the reliability of test results.

How does Multi-IQ technology differ from traditional VLF?
06/09/2026 15:31:36

Two metal detectors may have fairly similar specifications, but their field results can differ significantly. Some devices operate stably on park ground, while others exhibit significant interference when moved to red basalt soil or coastal areas

How Surface Roughness Affects Bearing Life
06/09/2026 14:37:40

Bearings are critical components in most industrial power transmission systems. Their service life is typically determined by factors such as load, rotational speed, lubrication conditions, and the operating environment. In addition to these well-known factors, the surface quality of the mating interfaces between the bearing and the shaft or housing also has a direct impact on the durability and reliability of the entire drive assembly.

Do sandy soils, clay soils, and rocky soils reduce detection depth?
06/09/2026 14:15:53

Even with the same device and the same object, the detection results are not always the same. In some areas, the signal is clearly visible from a considerable distance, while in other areas, the probe must be brought close to the ground to receive a response.

How to Clean and Maintain a Paint Gloss Meter for Long-Term Accuracy
06/09/2026 11:25:27

Paint gloss meters are widely used in quality control departments, material testing laboratories, and paint production facilities. These instruments measure the amount of light reflected from a coated surface, helping manufacturers maintain consistency between production batches and meet appearance-related quality standards.
