Prepare the GT-LC05-1 Before Testing
Begin with the required power and air connections. The supplied operating information specifies a single-phase 220V, 50HZ power source. Connect the equipment to this power source before proceeding with the test setup.
Next, connect the compressed-air supply to the oil-water separator. Air preparation is part of the stated setup process and should be completed before a drop test is initiated. Check the pressure gauge and adjust the pressure to the indicated 0.5–0.6MPa range.
After the power and compressed air are connected, switch on the tester. Release the emergency stop knob so the unit is ready for operation. The emergency stop condition should be understood before beginning a test, since the test involves a falling sample.
Set the Required Drop Height
Use the equipment's Parameter Setting function to enter the intended test height. Once the height has been set, select Test Page to return to the test interface.
Before installing a sample, select Return and check the position of the drop arm. The operating guidance calls for confirming that the drop arm is parallel to the bottom plate. This check helps establish the correct starting position for the selected test height.
If adjustment is needed, use the Up or Down controls. Continue adjusting until the drop arm corresponds to the preset testing height. Taking time to confirm this position before loading the specimen supports a more controlled test process.
Install and Secure the Sample
Place the sample directly above the drop arm. Loosen the bolt on the sample clamp to position the specimen. The drop direction can then be selected according to the test requirement: edge, angle, or surface.
After selecting the drop orientation, adjust the clamp so that the sample is positioned vertically and held firmly on the drop arm. Tighten the lock bolt to secure the sample. A securely clamped specimen is important because the drop orientation is part of the planned evaluation.
Confirm the Test Area Is Clear
Before starting the drop, ensure that no person or object is below the falling path. The operating guidance specifically prohibits standing or placing objects beneath the tester during the falling operation because of the risk created by a falling sample.
Start the Free-Fall Test
When the height, alignment, and sample clamp have been confirmed, select Drop to begin the test. The GT-LC05-1 releases the sample for the configured falling test. Keep the area below the sample clear until the falling operation is complete.
After the test, inspect the sample according to the evaluation method used by your quality control process. The tester supports examination of packaging or luggage performance after an impact event, while the relevant test direction—edge, angle, or surface—should remain part of the recorded test conditions.
